Lady Bulldogs bounce back to win Falkville Tournament

The Priceville Lady Bulldogs bounced back from an earlier loss to Madison Academy to defeat them 3-0 in the championship game of the Falkville Tournament this past weekend. Elizabeth Murphy pitched a four-inning shutout, allowing three hits while striking out three to earn the win.

Kelsey Green had a hit, an RBI and a run scored to lead the Lady Bulldogs (8-3). Bailey Smyth had a hit and a run scored, while Wrozlie Barnett had a run scored.

Priceville 18, Decatur Heritage 0
Priceville scored 12 in the top of the first and cruised to an 18-0 victory over Decatur Heritage. Madalynne Black pitched a three-inning shutout, striking out three to earn the victory. She also finished 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored.

Darby Thigpen was 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs scored, while Katee King had a home run with two RBI and two runs scored. Barnett had two hits with three RBI and two runs scored. Xoi Gaines added two RBI.

Priceville 12, Falkville 0
Priceville scored four in the first and added eight in the second to defeat Falkville 12-0 to open day two of the Falkville Tournament. Green earned the win after allowing only one hit in three innings while striking out six. She also scored two runs while stealing two bases.

King had a hit, two RBI and a run scored. Barnett and Thigpen each added a hit and two runs scored.

Madison Academy 6, Priceville 2
Priceville fell 6-2 to Madison Academy after the Mustangs rallied for four runs in the third inning to take a 5-2 lead after trailing 2-1. Black took the loss after allowing six runs on seven hits in 3.1 innings.

Green had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, while Thigpen had two hits and a run scored.

Priceville 19, Meek 1
The Lady Bulldogs scored 11 in the first inning and never looked back in their 19-1 two-inning victory. King and Madison Lafountain each had two hits, including a home run and three RBI, while Thigpen had a home run and three RBI. Green and Thigpen each scored three runs. Murphy picked up the win after allowing one run on two hits in two innings of work.

Priceville 15, Falkville 0
Priceville picked up a 15-0 win over Falkville last Tuesday. They were led by the pitching combo of Black and Murphy, who combined for a three-inning perfect game. They combined for seven strikeouts.

Maddie Black had a home run and three RBI, while Barnett had a home run, two RBI and two runs scored. Thigpen and King each added two hits, two RBI and scored three runs..

Danville 9, New Hope 1
Danville opened the season with an 8-1 over New Hope. McKinley McCaghren allowed one run on one hit with 11 strikeouts. She also had two RBIs.

Tamara Hutto and Aubrey Reed each had two hits. Reed had an RBI and two runs scored. Adily Alberti and Ellie Tucker each had a hit and two RBI.

Danville 8, Fort Payne 7
Danville rallied for five runs in the top of the fourth inning to come from a 7-3 deficit to get the win. McCaghren picked up the win despite allowing seven runs on five hits in four innings. She also had two RBI.

Alberti had a double and four RBI, while Reed had a home run and scored three runs. Adily Alberti had a hit and four RBIs. Emily Lacy had a hit and two runs scored.

Huntsville 3, Danville 1
The Lady Hawks fell 3-1 in their final game of the Buckhorn Bash on Saturday. Isabella Guest had two hits, while Ella Kate Tidwell scored a run on a Lacy RBI.

Brewer 15, Decatur 0
Brewer cruised past Decatur 15-0 last Thursday. Cadence Lott and Karli Staton combined for a one-hit shutout in the win. Lott pitched two innings, allowing one hit with two strikeouts, while Staton pitched a scoreless final inning, striking out two.

Lott finished with two hits and four RBI, while Staton had a double and four RBI.
