In the spirit of giving and community care, the Sewing and Serving ministry at Shoal Creek Baptist Church has adorned the Linda Duran Public Library in Priceville with a touch of warmth this holiday season.  

A Christmas tree, decorated not with traditional ornaments, but with hats, scarves, and gloves, has been placed at the library for anyone in need to take and stay warm during the cold winter months. 

The initiative, led by the volunteers of the Sewing and Serving ministry, aims to spread holiday cheer and address the needs of those facing the chill of winter. The tree, standing tall in the library’s foyer, will be regularly replenished as community members take what is needed.   

Pat Dunkin, a member of the Sewing and Serving ministry, said the goal of the initiative is to share the warmth of the holiday season with the community, both figuratively and literally. “We believe in extending a helping hand, and what better time to do so than during the holidays,” Dunkin said.   

The clothing and accessories have been donated to the cause or found at the Priceville Community Thrift Store, Dunkin said, which is also operated by the church.  

All items are available to the public free of charge.
