Boys basketball: Danville improves to 2-1 in area play

DANVILLE – The Hawks improved to 2-1 in area play with an 82-46 win over Colbert Heights. Danville led 38-23 at the half.

AJ Holladay led five players in double figures with 18 points in the win. Huntley Segars, Ben Ellenburg and Jeremy Cordova each scored 12 points. Joseph Smith added 10 points.

Dakota Vaughn scored nine points to lead Colbert Heights.

Colbert County 68, Danville 58

The Hawks fell to 1-1 in area play with a 68-58 loss to Colbert County. The Hawks led 38-35 at halftime.

AJ Holladay scored 23 points to lead Danville. Huntley Segars added 11 points, while Ben Ellenburg added 10 points.

Tyler Castle scored 25 points to lead Colbert County.

Priceville 53, Brewer 37

Priceville picked up a 53-37 win over rival Brewer in a county match-up. The Bulldogs led 30-9 at the half.

Tyler Case and Sammy Holmes scored 16 points each to lead Priceville. Cole Lindeman had 13 points for the Bulldogs.

Mac Shadden scored 19 points to lead Brewer, while Jackson Dunn added eight points.

Arab 53, Priceville 37

Priceville dropped their second game of the week in a 53-37 loss on the road at Arab. The Bulldogs were held to 10 points in the first half as they trailed 23-10 at the break.

Cole Lindeman scored 15 points and had nine rebounds in the loss. Sammy Holmes added 13 points for Priceville.

Good Hope 64, Priceville 59

The Bulldogs fell to 1-1 in area play with a 64-59 loss at Good Hope. They trailed 36-31 at halftime.

Cole Lindeman scored 26 points and had six rebounds and four assists to lead Priceville. Tyler Case had 11 points and eight rebounds, while Jake Langlois finished with a double-double, 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Holly Pond 67, Falkville 42

The Blue Devils fell to 1-1 in area play with a 67-42 loss to Holly Pond.

Isaiah Warnick scored a game-high 18 points in the loss. Caden Burnett and Carson McClellon added eight points each.

Blake Rickard had a game-high 17 points for Holly Pond.
