Hartselle volleyball finishes the week with four wins

HARTSELLE — The 6A #10 Hartselle Lady Tigers picked up four wins last week, including wins over 7A #7 Sparkman and 6A #5 Pelham. 

 To start the week, the Lady Tigers defeated Decatur 3-0. Jadyn Chesser led the way with ten kills and eight digs, Lydia Simmons had seven kills, while Amber Holshouser had 28 assists and seven digs. 

 On Thursday, Hartselle picked up a pair of wins over Sparkman (2-1) and Athens (2-0). 

 Chesser finished 17 kills and 15 digs to lead Hartselle. Katie Gillott had 21 kills, while Simmons had eight kills, two digs and two blocks. Kennedy Sheats added eight kills and three digs, and Abby Morris had four digs and four aces. 

 On Saturday, the Lady Tigers hosted 6A #1 Mountain Brook, 6A #5 Pelham and 6A #6 Hazel Green. Hartselle defeated Pelham (2-0) but dropped matches to Mountain Brook (2-0) and Hazel Green (2-0). 

 Hartselle (22-19) played at Muscle Shoals on Tuesday and will play in the Homewood Tournament this weekend.
