Volleyball notebook: Danville, Priceville and Falkville pick up wins

It was a good week for local volleyball teams. Priceville, Danville and Falkville all picked up match wins.

Priceville

The 4A No. 9 Lady Bulldogs finished the week 4-4 with wins Geraldine (2-1), West Point (2-1), D.A.R. (2-1) and 5A No. 10 Brewer (2-1). However, they suffered losses to 1A No. 1 Addison, 7A No. 4 Sparkman, 5A No. 3 Alexandria and 5A No. 5 Madison Academy.

Zoey Benson led Priceville with 80 kills, 16 digs, 12 blocks and eight aces. Abby Langlois added 57 kills and 26 blocks, while Ashlyn Johnson finished with 222 assists. (assist and solo)Current

Danville

The 3A No. 4 Lady Hawks picked up a tri-match sweep of 5A No. 8 Lawrence County 2-0 (25-19, 25-14) and 4A No. 6 West Morgan 2-1 (22-25, 25-14, 15-12).

Faith Parker led Danville with 27 kills, 13 digs and two aces. Aaliyah Douglas added 13 kills.

Falkville

Falkville finished 1-1 with an area win over Whitesburg Christian 3-1 (25-9, 22-25, 25-20, 25-8) and an area loss to 1A No. 10 Decatur Heritage 3-1 (25-21, 25-9, 23-25, 25-12).

Ella Kyker led the Blue Devils with 33 kills, eight digs, two blocks and two aces. Abbey Grace Tomlin had 15 kills, 24 digs, four blocks and one ace, while Chloe Butler had 14 digs, 11 aces and two kills.
