Has Christ given you a new ‘flavor’?

By Todd Barrier

I have always loved Mountain Dew. It always used to be my go-to drink. Unfortunately, for the past two years, I just can’t drink it any longer.

When I got COVID-19, I lost my sense of smell but not my sense of taste; however, it seems my taste buds were changed forever. Some things just don’t taste the same anymore – including my former favorite drink. It just tastes bad now, nothing like before.

It reminds me of a Bible verse. In Matthew 5:13, the Bible says, “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.”

Just like COVID totally changed my taste buds, Christ totally changes us. We should no longer be “flavored” like the rest of the world; our “flavor” should be different.

We should see things in a new light and act and live according to that Light!

The world should see something different about us than what it’s used to. We give the world a whole new flavor through Christ.

Has Christ given you a new “flavor”?
