Hartselle Enquirer selects All-Area Football Team

PLAYERS OF THE YEAR

Offensive Players of the Year: Hartselle QB JT Blackwood and Priceville RB Mason Cartee

Defensive Players of the Year: Hartselle LB Mookie Moore and Priceville LB Jake Langlois

Coach of the Year: Chris Foster led the Priceville Bulldogs to the school’s first 10-win season and a trip to the second round of the playoffs for the second time in three years. He has won a school-record 24 games in his three seasons as the Priceville head coach.

The following are the Hartselle Enquirer’s choices for an All-Area Football Team:

OFFENSE

QB: JT Blackwood, Hartselle: The senior completed 143 passes in 215 attempts with a 67 percent completion percentage. He finished with 20 touchdown passes and five interceptions for a 4:1 TD to INT rate. He also had 43 rush attempts for 209 yards and six touchdowns. He was an honorable mention 6A All-State selection.

RB: Mason Cartee, Priceville: The junior had 296 attempts for 2,363 yards and 32 touchdowns. He had two games with more than 200 yards rushing and five touchdowns. He was a First Team 4A All-State selection.

RB: Ri Fletcher, Hartselle: The sophomore had 89 attempts for 1,053 yards and 18 touchdowns in eight games. He averaged 11.8 yards per attempt. He had 15 receptions for 178 yards and three touchdowns. He also had 261 kick return yards on 13 attempts.

WR: Izayah Fletcher, Hartselle: The junior had 52 receptions for 852 yards and eight touchdowns. He also had 19 kickoff returns for 381 yards and one touchdown. He was a Second Team 6A All-State selection.

WR: Kohl Randolph, Danville: The senior had 33 receptions for 757 yards and eight touchdowns.

WR: Eli Tidwell, Hartselle: The junior had 35 receptions for 664 yards and five touchdowns.

OL: Braxton Quattlebaum, Hartselle: The senior had 51 pancake blocks while allowing no sacks. He graded out at 87 percent for the season. He was a First Team 6A All-State selection.

OL: Colton Stinson, Hartselle: The sophomore finished with 47 pancake blocks, allowing no sacks.

OL: Tyler Cappi, Priceville: The senior finished with 100 pancake blocks and allowed no sacks. He graded out at 97 percent for the season. He anchored a line that led the way for a rushing attack that piled up more than 3,600 yards. He is a two-time First Team 4A All-State selection.

OL: Tristan Holmes, Priceville: The senior finished with 65 pancake blocks and was graded at 85 percent for the season. He was an honorable mention 4A All-State selection.

OL: Brock Puckett, Falkville: The senior had 28 pancakes blocks and allowed only one sack.

DEFENSE

DL: Dominic Simmons, Hartselle: The senior had 67 tackles with 14 tackles for loss and one sack.

DL: Dalton Green, Hartselle: The junior had 45 tackles with eight tackles for losses and three sacks with one fumble recovery.

DL: Kameron Hogan, Danville: The senior had 82 tackles, with 17 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. He also forced four fumbles. He was an honorable mention 3A All-State selection.

DL: Garrison Woodall, Priceville: The senior had 37 tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss and one sack.

LB: Jake Langlois, Priceville: The junior had 131 tackles, with 12.5 for loss. He had five interceptions, forced a fumble and had three fumble recoveries with one defensive touchdown. He was an honorable mention 4A All-State selection.

LB: Kaleb Moore, Hartselle: The senior recorded 150 tackles – 16 tackles for loss and three sacks. He was a Second Team Class 6A All-State selection.

LB: Isaac Osteen, Hartselle: The senior had 95 tackles with seven tackles for loss and one fumble recovery.

LB: Malachi Collet, Falkville: The sophomore had 106 tackles with three sacks and one fumble recovery.

LB: Carson Crowe, Danville: The senior had 115 tackles with seven tackles for loss and five sacks with two forced fumbles.

DB: Walker Hoyle, Hartselle: The junior had 42 tackles with four interceptions, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown.

DB: Peyton Steele, Hartselle: The sophomore had 38 tackles with one interception.

DB: Sammy Holmes, Priceville: The freshman had 70 tackles, three interceptions, and one defensive touchdown.

DB: Caden Burnett, Falkville: The junior had 47 tackles with four interceptions, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown.

K: Crawford Lang, Hartselle: The junior was 50 of 50 on extra-point attempts. He finished four out of five on field-goal attempts with a long of 35 yards. He was an honorable mention Class 6A All-State selection.
