The Town of Falkville is pleased to spotlight new employees for the year 2021: 

Danielle Hayes 

Danielle joined the Falkville team as magistrate in August. She has been married 18 years to Josh Hayes, who works at Valley Rubber. They have three girls, Jayla, 17, Lynsley, 16, and Hayesley, 5, and three dogs, Samson, Bella and Ella.  

Danielle graduated from Falkville High School in 2001 and attended Wallace State Community College. She enjoys going to church at Fairview—The Grace Place, working with children with special needs, planning Night to Shine, taking family beach trips, going camping and fishing, cooking, sports and just spending time with her family. 

David Henderson 

David joined the Falkville team as a Public Works team member in October. He is married to Jamie Henderson. They have one son, Greyson, who is 13 years old.  

David and his family enjoy going to church at No Fences Cowboy Church. He loves to fish, bird hunt and deer hunt. 

Jacob Vest  

Jacob joined the Falkville team in June as a police officer. He was born and raised in the Town of Falkville. His mom and dad are Lisa and Bryan Vest.  

Jacob enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2007 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. He was deployed to Iraq in 2008-2009 then deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. He ended active duty enlistment in 2011 and got into law enforcement.  

He served at the Decatur Police Department from 2012-2016 and resigned from law enforcement for a short period of time. Law enforcement is his passion, and he loves to serve his community and do the best he can to keep all of their citizens safe.  

In June Jacob was offered the opportunity to serve the Town of Falkville and could not pass up the opportunity to do what he loves.  

Kalob Lowery 

Kalob joined the Falkville team in April as a Public Works team member. He attended Vinemont High School, where he played football and baseball, although he is a graduate of Fairview High School.  

Kalob enjoys fishing, hunting and spending time with his 2-year-old son, Kolton, and significant other, Savannah Yarbrough.  

Summerford Nursing Home Activities  

Summerford Nursing Home residents recently enjoyed “Thanksgiving at Grinder Switch.” The resident dancers, the High Steppers, did soft shoe to “Turkey in the Straw.” They were dressed in Minnie Pearl crepe dresses with pilgrim hats with price tags.  

Community Church News  

McKendree United Methodist Church members enjoyed a potluck Thanksgiving meal Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Those attending sang the Johnny Appleseed song, “The Lord’s Been Good To Me” and also “Count Your Many Blessings.”  

Representatives from the North Alabama District of the First Congregational Methodist Churches met at the Boaz Headquarters recently.   

The General Conference for District Representatives was held Nov. 5-6 for Alabama and other states.   

The Rev. Eric Stephenson of Hartselle conducted the services at Corinth West Methodist Church Nov. 14 at 11 a.m.   

The members met Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. to prepare fruit and goody baskets for the shut-ins and the elderly. A soup and chili lunch was their fellowship treat. 

Nov. 20 Corinth West Baptists met at the fellowship hall kitchen to complete preparation of Thanksgiving meals and deliver them to Upshaw, Piney Grove, Corinth West, Mt. Vernon, Macedonia and Battle Ground areas. The head of the food project was Christie Guthrie.
