Christmas in the Park returns Dec. 4

A favorite Christmas event of many Hartselle citizens is returning this year to E.A.R.T.H Park Dec. 4.

Christmas in the Park, which will bring approximately 30 beautifully decorated Christmas trees to the park, is free and open to the public and a family-friendly event. Hartselle Utilities will light the trees at 6 p.m.

The event is put on by the Hartselle Beautification Association. Businesses and organizations sponsor and decorate the trees to compete for awards and bragging rights. The cost to sponsor a tree is $100.

Executive Director Carolyn Wallace said any profit made from the event will be used to make improvements in E.A.R.T.H Park.

Wallace and Mayor Randy Garrison will have opening comments to begin the event that will also feature concerts from elementary school students singing Christmas songs.

The Chamber will be announcing winners of the storefront Christmas decorating contest. Tree awards will also be announced. Free refreshments provided by Warehouse Coffee and Life Church.

Local Boy Scout Troops 336 and 92 are volunteering their time to put up the trees for the event. Wallace said the trees will stay standing and decorated for the public to enjoy from Dec. 4-Jan. 2.
