Murder charge follows weekend shooting

Just before midnight Sept. 11, deputies with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting call in the 300 block of Jim Henderson Road in unincorporated Falkville. The incident culminated in the arrest of a Falkville man.  

Thomas Dale Chapman, 58, of Falkville was charged with murder. 

Upon arrival on the scene, deputies located the shooting victim, Isaac Keola Rodgers, 31, of Holly Pond. Rodgers died at the scene. 

Investigators arrived and processed the scene, arresting Chapman.  

Chapman was booked in the Morgan County Jail with a $150,000 bond. 

According to the MCSO, deputies were assisted by Morgan County coroner Jeff Chunn, Morgan County 911, Falkville Fire and Rescue, Falkville Police Department, Ebenezer Volunteer Fire Department and LifeGuard EMS.
