Falkville names new volleyball and softball coaches

Falkville recently announced the hiring of Angie Tomlin as the school’s new volleyball coach and Mallory Jones as the softball coach.

Tomlin and Jones will replace Meaghan Gray, who has led both programs since 2016.

“I’m very excited to be the new volleyball coach and be involved again in the game that I love!” Tomlin said. “I’m excited about the talent we have on this team, and I look forward to seeing how this season goes!”

Tomlin’s husband Greg will assist with the varsity team and lead the junior varsity team. He was recognized as the 2A Assistant Coach of the Year following the Blue Devils 2020 season.

Jones, an assistant coach for the Lady Blue Devils the previous three seasons, takes the reigns of the softball program. The Lady Blue Devils have been highly successful over the last five seasons, including three 20+ wins seasons.

“I have been a part of this program for a few years, and there is no place I’d rather be,” Jones said. “I am excited to get the opportunity to lead this group of girls. They have worked hard to get where they are, and we will continue to work hard.”

Before coming to Falkville, Jones was an assistant at Danville, where she played her high school ball.
