Bus route changes due to suspect search
Due to the ongoing search for a suspect in a robbery at Kroger this morning, Hartselle City Schools will take additional precautions in their bus routes and after school care this afternoon.
According to Superintendent Dr. Dee Dee Jones, students who live in the impacted search area will have adjustments to their dismissal plan. Students who live in the area that spans from Bethel to Sparkman roads to Highway 36 are in the area where the adjustments have been made.
“We are asking those parents to come pick up those students. Everyone else will go out with regular dismissal. We sent out a voicemail message and students have been able to call parents,” Jones said.
In addition, the schools will continue to implement their secure perimeter protocol during after school programs until an “all clear” has been issued. According to Jones, the secure perimeter means that all doors are locked, students cannot got outside and that there are additional precautions during dismissal.
