“Midnight Library: The Final Frankenstein”

“Nothing good happens after midnight,” as the saying goes, and this holds true for the T. Middleton Nightingale City Library – or “Mid Night” Library. Mr. Nightingale built the library and then vanished, leaving behind a giant clock that no one has ever heard chime again, except for librarian Javier and his young library Pages.   

Each time they hear that fateful chime, the library changes into the world of a book, and the dangers within the pages of that book become all too real.

It becomes the librarian’s and his Pages’ job to fix the Mid Night Library.    

In this particular book they are transported into Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein,” but it is nothing like it is supposed to be. There are zombie monks, and Mary Shelley must construct something to fight them off using the only materials she has on hand: books!  

I don’t want to spoil the rest of the story, but it is very inventive without being too gross.

Nora Roberts delivers a well-written story that deals with an occurrence that is happening far too often in today’s world. In the everyday life of ordinary people, an act of violence will create a lifetime of repercussions.

What happens in the eight minutes of chaos and destruction? This story will show you how people will persevere and band together to strengthen each other.

I highly recommend anything Mrs. Roberts writes, whether it is a romance novel or a suspense novel. The library has a great selection of her books to offer.
