Former Oasis vocalists Joe Holmes, Trinecia Hall Butler and Derrick Stancil have reunited after 30 years and will lead the Night of Worship August 14th at 6 p.m. at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. Backing the trio will be the Lee Heights Baptist Church praise band. Kailey Butler will also perform pre-service music from 5:45-6 p.m.

“In the late 1980s and 90s we sang country music as Oasis,” said Holmes, who is also the worship leader at Shoal Creek. “All of us wound up in music ministry and we have really enjoyed reuniting and singing about what is really important – our eternal relationship with Jesus Christ. While we go by the same name, now we want our Oasis to be place where people are refreshed and changed by the Living Water of Jesus.”

A native of the music-rich Shoals area, Ms. Butler sang backup for the supergroup Alabama for several years before assuming her role as worship leader at Lee Heights. Stancil is an integral part of the worship team at Praise Tabernacle in Russellville, where his father pastors.

“We invite people from across the area to come join us for this night of worship,” Holmes said. “We will share a mix of praise and worship songs as well as some favorite hymns.”

Shoal Creek Church is located at 1077 Shoal Creek Rd just off Hwy. 67 in Priceville. For more information, call 256-654-4970.
