Quail Creek offers golf and more

Quail Creek started out as a nine-hole golf course in 1993. In it’s beginnings it was only about golf.  Today Quail Creek offers so much more on the 460-acre resort off Nat Key Rd., and has renamed the operation Quail Creek Golf Resort and Conference Center. July 3 was the 22nd Anniversary of Quail Creek.

Today, they offer an 18-hole golf course along with many other distinct attractions. Quail Creek offers a conference center for civic and church groups, business seminars and reunions. The Inn offers 14 furnished suites and a meeting room equipped for both social and training events.

Quail Creek stands by the slogan “You come dressed, we will do the rest” when it comes to hosting weddings.

Quail Creek has also added a new RV campground, which can be seen as you drive into the property.

Also new to Quail Creek is Colby Odom. Odom is the new golf pro at Quail Creek and hails from the University of Mobile. There Odom coached the men and women’s golf teams. He began his career at Mobile in 2007 and became the golf coach in 2008. Odom coached Heather Nail, daughter of Quail Creek owner, Matt Nail.  The University of Mobile is a private four-year liberal arts school with approximately 1,700 students.

Odom will work on player development and work with the new Quail Creek Academy.

Former Hartselle football standout and University of Alabama football player, Nikita Stover is a contracted trainer for Quail Creek. He trains in strength, speed and agility, training not only for football but all sports that require those skills. Stover’s website stovercore9.com gives more information about skills he can help develop.

Quail Creek Academy offers School of Golf and Quail Creek After-School.

Students can ride Quail Creek’s bus from the elementary schools, and for only $10 per day they will have supervised homework time, athletic workouts such as soccer and golf and open game time.

Quail Creek Camps offer summer fun with their day camps. Some of the activities include golf, games, swimming, archery, horses, canoeing, sports training, fishing, arts and guitar. Leadership is also stressed during these camps.

Other new staff members include Debra Lee, the Quail Creek Camps director and Kyle Pressley the new general manager and golf professional.

Nail said they also offer disc golf at Quail Creek. Plans include allowing patrons to play both disc and regular golf at the same time. The staff is planning a tournament for the fall.

Work is currently underway for baseball/softball, soccer and football training fields.

They also plan to add cabins and a western town to the Quail Creek family.

Only half of the property is currently developed, so there is plenty of room for this addition.

Quail Creek Church is also located on the property. Nail serves as pastor and Greg Lane works as worship leader. Odom is also serving as the drummer for the church.

Quail Creek is open for business for golf, meetings, weddings, swimming, fishing, getting fit and so much more.
