All-Area Softball Team announced

The Hartselle Enquirer has released its 2015 All-Area Softball Team.

Below are the first and second teams.

 

First team

Jada Hayes, Sr., Hartselle, P- 262 strikeouts, nine shutouts 1.192 ERA, 21-7 record from the circle, one save, .394 batting average, 56 hits, 29 runs, 20 RBIs, one homerun, 31 stolen bases, .459 on base percentage, named to the Class 6A ASWA Softball All-State First team (P).

Taylor Wascavage, Sr., Hartselle, C- .375 batting average, 51 hits, 25 runs, 30 RBIs, eight homeruns, 21 stolen bases, .453 on base percentage, named to the Class 6A ASWA Softball All-State First team (C).

Taylor Ledbetter, Jr., Brewer, 1B- .458 batting average, nine homeruns, named to All-Area team based on her performance in the area tournament.

Sara Beth Wilson, So., Priceville, 1B- .433 batting average, 14 runs, 18 RBIs, nine doubles, one triple, five stolen bases, 10 multi-hit games, ended season on a seven-game hitting streak.

Hope Cain, Jr., Hartselle, 1B/P – .388 batting average, 44 hits, 31 runs, 17 RBIs, five stolen bases, 192 strikeouts, nine shutouts, 1.103 ERA, 19-4 record from the circle.

Callie Ryan, Fr., Danville, 1B- .360 batting average, 36 hits, 11 doubles, four triples, two homeruns, 15 RBIs, .402 on base percentage.

McKenzie Parker, Sr., Priceville, OF- .468 batting average, 35 runs, 14 RBIs, seven doubles, five triples, two homeruns, 14 stolen bases, reached base safely in 32 of 40 games, had two separate 10-game hitting streaks.

Kathleen Wheeler, 8th, Priceville, OF- .398 batting average, 15 runs, 14 RBIs, five doubles, one triple, one homerun, nine stolen bases, had five games with three or more hits, batted .483 with runners in scoring position.

Makenzie Smith, Jr., Falkville, OF- .316 batting average, 42 hits, 13 doubles, one homerun, 26 RBIs, 34 runs, .391 on base percentage, named to the Class 6A ASWA Softball All-State Second team (OF).

Morgan Weatherwax, So., Danville, SS- .323 batting average, 32 hits, seven doubles, two triples, three homeruns, 15 RBIs, .412 on base percentage.

 

Second team

Savannah Bolton, Sr., Danville, P- 238 strikeouts, 1.157 ERA, 17-14 record from the circle, .263 batting average, 20 hits, five doubles, six RBIs, .371 on base percentage, named to the Class 6A ASWA Softball All-State Second team (P).

Maddie White, Jr., Falkville, C- .492 batting average, 60 hits, 18 doubles, seven homeruns, 48 RBIs, 28 runs, .531 on base percentage.

Abby St. John, Sr., Priceville, P/IF- .349 batting average, 26 runs, 22 RBIs, 10 doubles, two triples, one homerun, nine stolen bases, 64 stikeouts, threw a one-hitter to earn PHS a spot in the area tournament championship game and regional berth.

Hannah Wheeler, Fr., Priceville, SS- .320 batting average, 13 runs, 21 RBIs, 10 doubles, one triple, two homeruns, five stolen bases, lead PHS to area championship and regional berth with a double, a homerun and four RBIs.

Bailey Powell, Jr., Hartselle, SS- .319 batting average, 29 hits, 29 runs, 11 RBIs, one homerun, eight stolen bases, .361 on base percentage.

Hannah Jenkins, Sr., Hartselle, 3B- .312 batting average, 39 hits, 15 runs, 22 RBIs, one stolen base, .396 on base percentage.

Kellee Stiles, Sr., Danville, C- .312 batting average, 30 hits, seven doubles, one triple, three homeruns, 18 RBIs, .330 on base percentage.

Madi Evans, Jr., Brewer, C- .299 batting average, three homeruns, named to All-Area team based on her performance in the area tournament.

Bailey Watkins, Jr., Brewer, P- 68 strikeouts, 4.5 ERA, named to All-Area team based on her performance in the area tournament, named All-Area MVP.

Emily Gray, Jr., Falkville, SS- .276 batting average, 29 hits, three doubles, six RBIs, 24 runs, .356 on base percentage.
