DHS to hold summer play dates

The Danville High School boys and girls basketball teams will host their annual summer play dates throughout June.

Admission is $2 per person a day. All varsity games will consist of two 15 minute halves, and concession stands will be open at some locations.

Several area schools will participate in the play dates, which will be held at gyms throughout the county.

Games will begin at 9 a.m. each day.

The first play date will be Tues., June 9, with boys playing at Hartselle High School. Teams at this play date will include Hartselle (v/jv/9), Athens (v/jv/9), West Morgan (v/jv/9), West Point (v/jv/9), Danville (9), Lawrence County (v/jv/9) and Russellville (v/jv/9). The girls will be playing at Falkville High School. Teams at this play date will include Elkmont (v/jv), Good Hope (v/jv), Huntland (v), West Morgan (v/jv), Winfield (v) and West Limestone (v).

The second play date will be Thur., June 11, with girls playing at Hartselle High School and Hartselle Junior High School. Teams at this play date will include Holly Pond (v/jv/ms), East Limestone (v/jv/ms), Decatur (v/jv), Huntland (v), Addison (v), Athens (v/jv/ms), Danville (v/jv/ms), Austin (v/jv), Good Hope (v/jv), Fairview (jv), Hartselle (jv), Falkville (ms) and West Morgan (ms).

The third play date will be Mon., June 15, with boys playing at Hartselle High School, F.E. Burleson Elementary and Falkville High School. Teams at this play date will include Hartselle (v/jv/9), East Lawrence (v), Brewer (v/jv/9), East Limestone (v/jv), Priceville (v/jv), West Point (v/jv/9), Lawrence County (v/jv), Falkville (v/9), Woodville (v), Brindlee Mountain (v/jv), Danville (v/jv/9), Decatur Heritage (v) and Vinemont (v/9). Girls will play at Falkville High School and Falkville Elementary School. Teams at this play date will include Lawrence County (v), Clements (v), Falkville (v/jv), Good Hope (v/jv), Douglas (v) and Hartselle (jv).

The fourth play date will be Tues., June 16, with boys playing at Hartselle High School and F.E. Burleson Elementary. Team at that play date will include Hartselle (v/jv/9), Fort Payne (v/jv/9), East Lawrence (v), Decatur Heritage (v), Lawrence County (v/jv/9), Danville (9) and West Point (9). Varsity and JV girls will play at Hartselle High School and Hartselle Junior High School, and middle school girls will play at Falkville High School. Teams at this play date will include East Limestone (v/jv/ms), Brewer (v/jv), Athens (v/jv/ms), Woodville (v), Gardendale (v/jv), West Limestone (v), Clements (jv/ms), West Morgan (ms), Hatton (ms), Priceville (ms8/ ms7), Addison (ms), Danville (ms), Union Hill (ms), Winston County (ms) and Berry (v).

The fifth play date will be Wed., June 17, with girls playing at Hartselle High School. Teams at this play date will include Danville (v/jv), West Point (v/jv), Good Hope (v/jv), Clements (v), Addison (v), West Morgan (v) and James Clemens (v/jv).

The sixth play date will be Thur., June 18, with varsity, JV and ninth grade boys playing at Hartselle High School and middle school boys playing at Falkville High School and Falkville Elementary School. Teams at this play date will include Hartselle (v/jv/9), Athens (v/jv/9), East Lawrence (v), West Point (9), Brindlee Mountain (9), Arab (8/7), Briarwood Christian (8/7), Hartselle (8/7), West Point (8/7), Falkville (7), Central-Florence (8/7) and Muscle Shoals (8/7). Varsity and JV girls will play at Hartselle High School and F.E. Burleson Elementary, and middle school girls will play at Falkville High School. Teams at that play date will include Elkmont (v/jv), Holly Pond (v/jv/ms), Fairview (v/jv/ms), East Limestone (v/jv/ms), Lawrence County (v), Brewer (v/jv), Hatton (v), Hartselle (v/jv), Clements (jv/ms), Priceville (jv/ms), West Morgan (v/jv), West Point (ms), Union Hill (ms), Parkside (ms) and Falkville (ms).

The seventh play date will be Mon., June 22, with girls playing at Hartselle High School. Teams at that play date will include Hartselle (v), Lawrence County (v), West Limestone (v), Russellville (v) and Berry (v). Games will begin at 1 p.m. June 22.

The eighth play date will be Tues., June 23, with varsity and JV girls playing at Hartselle High School and middle school girls playing at West Morgan High School. Teams at this play date will include Danville (v/jv/ms), Decatur (v/jv), Brooks (v/jv/ms), West Point (v/jv), East Lawrence (v), Austin (v), Athens (v/jv/ms), Cold Springs (v/jv/ms), Cedar Ridge (ms), Falkville (ms) and Union Hill (ms).

The ninth play date will be Thur., June 25, with varsity and JV girls playing at Hartselle High School and middle school girls playing at West Morgan High School. Teams at this play date will include Elkmont (v/jv), Falkville (v/jv/ms), West Point (v/jv/ms), Hatton (v/ms), Holly Pond (v/jv/ms), Fairview (v/jv/ms), Decatur (v/jv), Lawrence County (v), East Lawrence (v), Athens (v/jv/ms), Priceville (7/8), Cold Springs (7/8) and Union Hill (ms).

The final play date will be Tues., June 30, with girls playing at Falkville High School and Falkville Elementary School. Teams at this play date will include Davnille (v/jv), Sparkman (v), Decatur (v/jv), Russellville (v), Fairview (v/jv), Douglas (v/jv), West Limestone (v), Cold Springs (v/jv), Winfield (v), Woodville (v), Elkmont (v) and West Point (v/jv).
