Funeral for Rachel Butler Joyner, 90, of Nashville (formerly of Hartselle) was Wed., Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bruceton Funeral Home with Bro. John Cole officiating.

Burial was in Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock, Tenn.

Mrs. Joyner died Sat., Feb. 7, 2015, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tenn. She was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Buena Vista, Tenn., to the late Edd Hauley Butler and Beulah Ethel Smothers Butler. Mrs. Joyner was a housewife and a member of Hartselle First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Tug” Joyner; a son, Freddie Bryan Joyner; and two brothers, Warren Butler and J.W. Butler.

She is survived by a daughter, Sherri Mainegra (Richard) of Nashville, Tenn.; a son, Kenneth Joyner (Laura) of Franklin, Tenn.; a brother, Edward Butler (Ann) of Bruceton, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Matt Joyner, Michael Joyner and Emily Joyner; and a dear friend and caregiver, Trish Farley of Hartseville, Tenn.

The family requests that donations be made to Alive Hospice of Nashville, Tenn.
