The Priceville Lady Bulldogs fell to Brooks 15-0 in their area tournament Wednesday, ending their season with just six wins.

Heather Owens and McKenzie Parker were the only players to get hits while Alison Varner drew two walks in her two at bats.

Brooks blew the game open by scoring six runs in the first inning and eight in the second inning. They ended the game with a walk-off groundout in the fourth inning.

Of the Brooks’ runs, only four were earned, as the Lady Bulldogs committed four errors.

Priceville kept its season alive by defeating East Limestone 17-16.

St. John paced the Lady Bulldogs, going 5-for-6 with five runs, two doubles and four RBIs. Varner was 3-for-6 with four RBIs and two runs.

Parker was 2-for-3 with four runs, two RBIs and a double. Anna Catherine Law added two hits while Owens, Mia Grantland and Madison Beddingfield added hits.

St. John earned the seven-inning win despite allowing 16 runs on eight hits and nine walks with four strikeouts. Only six of the runs were earned, as Priceville committed eight errors.

East Lawrence led 3-1 after the first inning. Priceville took a 6-3 after plating five runs in the second inning. East Lawrence tied it up in the bottom of the stanza.

Both teams scored three runs in the third inning. Priceville took the lead, outscoring East Lawrence 4-1 in the fourth inning.

The Lady Bulldogs added four much-needed insurance runs in the top of the seventh, as East Lawrence scored six runs capped by a three-run home run.

St. John got the final batter to line out with the bases empty for the final out.

St. John, Owens and Jenna Blankenship collected hits during an 11-1 loss to Haleville in the open round of the area tournament.

Blankenship stole home plate to score Priceville’s only run.

Kyle Miller took the loss. She finished with two strikeouts while allowing nine runs on three hits and six walks.

St. John allowed two unearned runs on one hit and two walks.
