Elks Lodge, Emblem Club donate dictionaries

Decatur Elks Lodge #655 members Jim Bowers and Buford Burgess and Decatur Emblem Club #127 member Dot Burgess delivered dictionaries to all 3rd graders at Crestline, Barkley Bridge, F.E. Burleson, Falkville and Sparkman Elementary Schools.

The Elks and Emblem members purchased approximately 3,000 dictionaries each year to donate to third graders in Morgan, Lawrence and Limestone counties. These books become the students’ personal dictionary to use through their school years and beyond.

The dictionary program is just one of the many charitable projects that Elks and Emblem members take part in every year. The members express the pleasure they receive every year as they deliver the dictionaries when they see the students so thrilled to receive these books.
