HHS students experience Germany
“I wore a coat the entire time,” Sittason said. “The temperature didn’t get above 65 degrees and there was a lot of wind.”
The students were also put to the challenge of making a nine-mile night hike in the mountains on one of their last days in Germany.
“It was a lot of fun but exhausting,” Sittason said. “Germans are big on spending time outdoors. They are avid bikers and hikers.”
Sittason said the exchange program helped her gain a better understanding of people of different countries and cultures and sparked a desire to explore other parts of the world.
“My only regret is we had to come home too soon,” she pointed out. “ I would’ve liked to stay another month.”
Other Hartselle High exchange students were: Tanner Brown, Easton Chenault, Caitlin Clardy, Cameron Cunningham, Arin Eddy, Lindsey Elmore, Thomas Fleischman, Shelby Harris, Julia Holladay, Savannah Holmes, Blaze Lawrimore, Garrett Marsh, Tori Miller, Alex Nickles, Tyler Phillips, Kayla Norwood, Haley Patterson, Blake Slayton and Alycia Timm. Teachers Houston Blackwood and Beth Long were chaperones.
