Cool salad and sweet fruity teas

Use empty tuna cans to cut out bread to make party sandwiches.

Raspberry Tea

2 cups boiling water

4 raspberry tea bags

3 tablespoons sugar or 3 pkgs. of sweet ‘n low

2 cups chilled ginger ale

Pour boiling water over tea bags, cover and steep 5 minutes. Remove tea bags from water, squeezing gently. Stir in sugar and let tea cool. Stir in ginger ale. Yields 4 cups.

Orange Balls

1 box vanilla wafers

1/2 cup coconut

1/2 cup frozen orange juice

1/2 cup chopped nuts

1/4 cup powdered sugar

Crush vanilla wafers and thaw orange juice. Mix ingredients, except powdered sugar. Roll into small balls; roll balls in the powdered sugar.

Luncheon Salad

2 pkgs. orange gelatin

2 cups hot water

1 small can frozen orange juice

1 small can pineapple chunks

1 pkg. instant lemon pudding

Dissolve gelatin in hot water. Mix orange juice with water to make 2 cups juice. Add to gelatin and let cool. Fold into pineapple. Pour into mold and chill until firm. Mix pudding according to pkg. directions. Place on top of gelatin.

Looking back to food prices in 1982: King size oven fresh bread, 3 for $1; bell peppers or cucumbers, 4 for $1; fryers cut up, 38 cents per pound and fryer legs, 68 cents a pound.
