Madison man charged with Hartselle burglary

A Madison man has been charged with burglary after he was caught carrying items from a Nanceford Road home.

Mark Anthony Stacey

On Tuesday, a resident of the 1700 block of NanceFord Road called the Hartselle Police Department. The homeowner, who was at work, said he received a call from a neighbor, advising that there was a white cargo van with tinted windows parked behind the residence.

Officers from the Hartselle Police Department made contact with a white male who was exiting the residence through a back door. The male, later identified as Mark Anthony Stacey, 46, was seen carrying property in his arms. Officers arrested Stacey and cleared the house to ensure there were not any additional suspects inside.

Investigators determined that the suspect forced his way into the residence through a window and took several items from inside the residence.

Stacey was taken to the Hartselle Police Department and charged with burglary in the third degree. He was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail and is being held on a $2,500 bond.
