Funeral for Maryann Strickland, 71, of Falkville will be Sat., Feb. 18, at 1 p.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Church with Bro. Johnny Reid officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Fri., Feb. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Mrs. Strickland died Mon., Feb. 13, 2012, at her residence. She was born May 10, 1940, in New Jersey to Russell Hayton and Elsie Jane Nichol Hayton. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and a retired lunchroom worker for the Morgan County Board of Education. She was preceded in death by her parent and a sister, Dorothy Hayton Leach.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis Junior Strickland Jr. of Falkville; two daughters, Sherie Strickland Martin and Amy Strickland Johnson, both of Falkville; a sister, Beverly Hayton Stevens of Falkville; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jonathon Lindsey, Steven Lindsey, Matthew Conrow, Jason Duncan, Jeffrey Duncan, Tommy Wood and Jerry Wood.
