Hartselle man charged in Arizona rest stop robbery
According to the Associated Press, a Hartselle man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a rest area in Flagstaff, Ariz.
The media report stated that Curtis Ray Smith, 27, of Hartselle was charged with suspicion of robbery, aggravated assault, possession of prescription drugs and criminal damage. He is being held in a Coconino County, Ariz, jail on a $150,000 cash bond.
The local sheriff’s department said a witness reported seeing a man beaten on the head with a “pipe-shaped” object. Authorities located the suspect and found what they believe was the weapon.
