Funeral for Walter Rudolph Sivley, 88, of Somerville will be Mon., Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. at Center Springs United Methodist Church with the Revs. Steve Pilkington and George Harmon officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in th adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Sivley died Sat., Oct. 8, 2011. He was a member of Center Springs UMC and was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Dunaway Sivley and a son, Joe L. Sivley.

He is survived by a daughter, Vera Nell Steelman of Somerville; a brother, Floyd Sivley of Somerville; two sisters, Clara Stewart and Mildred Holmes, both of Somerville; four surviving grandchildren, Deana Borden and husband Rickey, Pam Nelms and husband David, Chris Sivley and wife Carolyn and Nicole Hill and husband Stacy; four great-grandchildren, Devin Nelms, Trevor Borden, Kelsey Borden and Kayla Hill; a daughter-in-law, Linda Sivley of Somerville; and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ron Moody, Clark Johnston, Jim Watkins, Robert Dunaway, Michael Dunaway, Bill Dunaway, J.G. McGee, Maurice McGee, Robert Freeman and Jim Burleson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Center Springs UMC at 4851 East Upper River Road, Somerville, AL 35670 or Hospice of the Valley, P.O. Box 2745, Decatur, AL 35601.
