Agents shut down meth lab

Morgan County Deputies shut down a methamphetamine lab in Lacey’s Spring over the weekend, the second lab shut down in as many days.
According to Sheriff Greg Bartlett, deputies went to 151 Lassiter Road in Lacey’s Spring’s Morgan City community July 10 to serve a felony warrant.
No one answered the door but agents said they could tell someone was inside the home. They checked a nearby shed and observed components of a meth lab. Drug task force agents were called in and the lab was searched.
Three one pot labs were found in the shed and one inside the house. Agents also found finished methamphetamine, ammonium nitrate and unidentified liquid. Two gas generators for methamphetamine production  found in the shed and one in the nearby woods.
Arrested were Jason Alton Matthews, 39, and Jill Michelle Bledsoe, 43. Matthews is charged with unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance $150,000. He also faces second degree theft charges in Madison County.
Bledsoe is charged with unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $20,000.
