Funeral for Robert F. “Bob” Horton, 73, of Vinemont will be Thursday (today), Aug. 14, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery in Cullman County.
Mr. Horton died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, at Regency Manor Assisted Living in Gurley. He was born Nov. 24, 1934, in Cullman County to Floyd Leon Horton and Trudie Mildred Walker Horton. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and worked as an electrical engineer at NASA in Huntsville before retiring. He also served on the Hartselle City Council from 1970 to 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Horton of Vinemont; two sons, Robert F. Horton Jr. of Midland, Tex. and Keith Horton of Hartselle; a daughter, Sandy Horton of Hartselle; a brother, Bill Horton of Vinemont; a sister, Dot Johnson of Birmingham; and a grandchild, Andrew Scoggins.
Pallbearers will be Jim McKelvey, Tim McKelvey, Charlie Johnson, Scott Scoggins, Keith Horton and Robert Horton.
