Applications for absentee ballots are available at City Hall for the Aug. 26 municipal election. The deadline to apply for a regular absentee ballot is Aug. 21. You must provide identification in order to vote absentee by mail or at City Hall.
To cast an absentee ballot, a voter must attest they will be out of the country, state or city on the day of the election, have a physical infirmity that prevents them from going to the polls, works at least a 10 hour shift that prevents them from going to the polling place, attends school outside the area, are serving in the military, or are serving as a poll worker at another location.
College students are encouraged to vote before they leave for school.
