Funeral for Emmett David Steele, 85, of Danville was Sunday, July 13, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Compton officiating.
Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.
Mr. Steele died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Aug. 13, 1922, in Lawrence County to Britian Jackson Steele and Fannie May Garnett Steele. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Steele of Danville; a son, Steve Lamar Steele of Danville; a sister, Odie Lee Lawrence of Danville; two grandsons, Brad Steele and Brent Steele; a granddaughter, Stephanie Steele McPherson; and a great-grandchild, Shauntel McPherson.
Pallbearers were Dale Bibb, Phillip Steele, Scott Morris, Tim Morris, Wade Lawrence and Jack Steele.
