Funeral for Grace Steele Kent, 87, of Danville was Sunday, Mar. 2, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Wray officiating.
Burial was in Friendship Cemetery near Danville.
Mrs. Kent died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born March 19, 1920, in Winston County to Burr French Collins and Etta Maebell Williams Collins. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charlie J. Steele and James D. Kent; her parents; and six brothers, Odis Collins, Leonard Collins, C.G. Collins, Cecil Collins, Loyd Collins and Melvin Collins.
She is survived by two sons, Marvin C. Steele and Alvin J. Steele; four grandchildren, Dana Hill, Maria Blaxton and husband Craig, Maria Thompson and Rita Lindsey; four great-grandchildren, Kaleb Hill, MaRay Blaxton, Emily Lindsey and Jenna Lindsey.
Pallbearers were Caleb Hill, Jay Collins, James Collins, Dorman Steele, James Steele and Wayne Collins.
