Funeral for James Hollie Luker, 88, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jack Redfearn officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Luker died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Morgan County to John Fletcher Luker and Lena Young Luker. He was a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church, served four years in the Army Air Corps in World War II and was a Civil Service employee at Redstone Arsenal for 27 years. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Millard, Paul, Orval and Obed Luker; and three sisters, Ruby Wooten, Jewel Duncan and Opal Pettit.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen Luker of Hartselle; two sons, James Stanley Luker and wife Barbara of Orlando, Fla. and John Randall Luker and wife Judy of New Market; a daughter, Linda Luker Carroll and husband Lester of Montgomery; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
Pallbearers were Harold Woodruff, Solomon Johnson, Rethal Hightower, Charles Sanford, Tommy Sutton and Roger Hutzler.
