Murdock, Menendez wed
Emily Kendall Murdock and Matthew Becker Menendez were married April 21, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Birmingham. The Reverend Stuart Bryan Latimer Jr. and the Reverend William Stacey Croft of Nashville, Tenn. officiated the ceremony. Dinner and dancing followed at Mountain Brook Club.
The bride is the daughter of Judge and Mrs. Glenn Murdock of Birmingham. She is the granddaughter of Billy Alford Murdock and the late Marguerita Huey Murdock of Enterprise and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Gilchrist of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald York Menendez of Birmingham. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Menendez of Memphis, Tenn., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Franklin Gelzer of Atlanta, Ga.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory strapless modified a-line gown of triple tier silk organza, adorned with re-embroidered alencon lace, featuring a chapel length train designed by Christos. Her ivory chapel length veil, created by Rodica Lazarian of Atlanta, featured French hand sewn alencon re-embroidered lace, hand beaded with swarovski crystals and pearls. She carried a mixed cascade bouquet of white orchids, lily of the valley, roses, peonies, freesia, and stephanotis accented with lace from her mother’s wedding gown.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was Emily Kloess York of Birmingham. Bridesmaids were Mary Louise Menendez, sister of the groom, Ginger Logue Menendez, sister-in-law of the groom, Tara Leigh Burns, Lucille Moore Denson, Julianna Lee Leachman, Elizabeth Rankin Lee, Mary Lauren McCrary, and Lacey Rader Russell, all of Birmingham, Chancey Elizabeth Philips of Columbus, Ga., Emily Albritton Biedenharn of Jackson, Miss., Natalie Edmonds Hatch of Memphis, Tenn., and Lea Hughes Adams of Jackson, Miss.
Serving the groom as best man was his father, Donald York Menendez. Groomsmen were Joshua York Menendez and Michael Dobbins Menendez, brothers of the groom, William Bailey Murdock and John Taylor Murdock, brothers of the bride, Robert Partlow Naftel, Philip Favor Schilleci, and William Thomas Mayfield, IV, all of Birmingham, Andrew Barrett Brashier of Jackson, Miss., Frank Norfleet Laughlin of Memphis, Tenn., Hugo William Schoellkopf IV of Dallas, Texas, Irby Jones Thompson Jr. of Montgomery, and Hunter Wetter Witherington of Memphis, Tenn.
Ushers serving the groom were Taylor Elliott Bruce of LaGrange, Ga., Andrew Duncan Pace of Birmingham, and Treadwell Blakesly Thompson of Memphis, Tenn. Scripture was read by Frederick Lee Kracke Jr. Vocalists were Tara Leigh Burns of Birmingham, and Lauren Elizabeth Pearce of Dallas, Tex. Program attendants were Ashley Jane Foster of Birmingham, Sara Claire Ames of San Antonio, Tex., and Amy Joanne Atkinson of Encinitas, Calif.
The bride and groom are both graduates of Vanderbilt University and are currently employed in Birmingham where they will reside following a honeymoon trip to the British Virgin Islands.
Siniard, Hargrove exchange vows
Cheryl Rene Siniard of Hartselle and Todd Leslie Hargrove of Hartselle were wed March 31, 2007, at 2 p.m. at West End United Methodist Church. Bro. Ron Ozbolt officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Rene Siniard of Hartselle. She is the granddaughter of Ruby Nethery of Hartselle and the late Emmett Nethery Jr. The groom is the son of Tim Hargrove and Pam Hargrove, both of Hartselle. He is the grandson of Juanita Hargrove and the late Wiley Hargrove, Mary Miller of Hartselle and the late Dauphis Miller.
The altar was decorated with white tulle and white and yellow daisies tied with pink ribbons.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white sating gown with beaded metallic embroidery and a beaded split overlay and a four-foot train. She wore a fingertip length veil and carried a bouquet of pink roses and white daisies.
Miranda Benson of Savannah, Tenn. was maid of honor. Janelle Seabuck, cousin of the bride, of West Chester, Penn., was bridesmaid.
Bridesmaids wore pink A-line empire waist dresses and carried white daisies.
Jenny, Jayla and Taylor Dozier of Decatur were flower girls. Ty Dozier of Decatur was ringbearer.
Matthew Woods of Hartselle was best man.
Zac Lindsey of Decatur, cousin of the bride, was groomsman.
Music was provided by Janet Widner.
A reception at the Tabernacle followed the ceremony.
The bride’s table featured a three-tier butter cream flavored cake decorated with white and yellow daisies. Her table also featured pink and white candles, clothes, candies and napkins.
The groom’s table featured a coconut cake adorned with an “A” for the University of Alabama. The table was decorated in crimson and white for Alabama.
Emily Robinson, Serena Clemons and Kim Cahill assisted with the reception. Jody Nethery made the cakes.
Kelsey and Katherine Nethery attended the bridal book.
After a trip to Chattanooga, Tenn. the couple is residing in Hartselle.
A rehearsal party was held at the home of the bride’s parents March 30 and hosted by the bride and groom’s parents.
The couple was also honored with a bridal shower at West End Methodist on Jan. 27 and hosted by Carol Lindsey and Rene Siniard.
Wallace, Barnes exchange vows
Jessica Nicole Wallace of Hartselle and Justin Lucas Barnes of Demopolis were married May 19, 2007, at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Robert Sparkman officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of David and Lara Wallace of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Larry and Judy Barnes of Demopolis.
The church sanctuary was decorated with arrangements of white roses, white gladiolas, various white flowers and greenery at the altar and in the windows
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
The bride chose a formal designer gown of white duchess satin. The strapless gown was fashioned with a molded corseted bodice, richly embellished with faceted crystal beading delicately woven into an intricate silver embroidery pattern. The fully gathered ball gown skirt of satin was adorned with embroidery and beading in a pattern similar to that of the bodice. It swept to a cathedral train, also detailed with embroidery. Her cathedral veil of imported French illusion was edged with crystal beading and held by bridal bandeau of silver, crystals and pearls. She carried a cascading bouquet of white roses, calla lilies, various other white flowers, and ivy.
Hope Wallace of Hartselle was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Rebecca Barrett of Slapout, Andrea Duren of Trussville, Amy Millington of Trussville, Heather Millington of Trussville, Katie Myers of Monroeville, Amanda Savage of Hartselle and Jana Wentzell of Trussville.
The bridesmaids and maid of honor wore matching gowns of navy blue silk chiffon. The halter styled formal gowns were fashioned with an empire waistline, emphasized by a love loop. A crystal broche was placed in the middle of the rouched back with flowing streamers. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of white roses with stems wrapped in ribbons.
Ellie Walker of Huntsville was flower girl.
Alex Sanford of Demopolis was ring bearer.
Best men were Larry Barnes and Josh Barnes of Demopolis.
Groomsmen were David Pressley of Hartselle, Wes Mindingall of Tuscaloosa, Mark Price of Greenville, SC, Jake Wallace of Hartselle, Drew Newson, of Decatur, and Seth Bowen of Huntsville.
Music provided by pianist and organist, Ellen Bean; solo and guitar, Mike Walker; soloists, Hope Wallace and Whitney Dugger.
Following the service the reception was held at First United Methodist Church in the Ministry Center.
The brides’s cake was a four-tier round butter cake with butter cream white icing with scroll designs with three satellite cakes surrounding it. The cake was decorated with fresh white flowers and a 5-inch monogram “B” on the top. The brides’ table was decorated with white layered tablecloths and was surrounded by white columns and white fabric draped between them
The groom’s cake was a three tier square chocolate cake with chocolate icing. A decorative iron screen with ivy plants was a background for the groom’s table.
Wedding director was Monty Vest.
Assisting with reception were Pam Spivey, who prepared the food. Jennifer Holladay and Stephanie Stewart served the bride’s cake, Raley Sittason and Taylor Bean served punch and Lisa Pressley and Ashley Edmunson served the groom’s cake.
Hailey Johnson attended the bride’s book.
Program attendant were Caroline Chappell of Hartselle.
The couple enjoyed a honeymoon trip to Jamaica Sandals Resort Whitehouse. They now reside in Madison.
A rehearsal party was held May 18 at Burningtree Country Club, hosted by the groom’s parents. The bridal luncheon was held May 18 at Oden House Cottage in Hartselle.

Beck, Armistead to wed
Cathy Beck of Decatur announces the engagement of her daughter, Shannon Elizabeth Beck of Decatur, to Alton Sadler Armistead III of Hartselle, son of Alton Jr. and Sandra Armistead of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Polly Butler and the late Bill Butler. She is a graduate of Danville High School and attended Calhoun Community College. She is employed with Moran Enterprises.
The future groom is the grandson of Sue and Rayburn Bradley of Cullman and the late Lucille Armistead and Al and Lynda Armistead Sr.
A graduate of Hartselle High School, he attended Northwest Shoals Community College, where he was a member of the golf team. He is employed with Wittichen Supply of Decatur.

Berry, Davis to wed
Jim and Pam Berry of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Christine Berry to Bradley Wayne Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Davis of Hamilton.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Wayne Edmundson of Hartselle and Mr. and Mrs. Wayman Berry of Brentwood, Tenn.
A 2002 graduate of Hartselle High School, she is a cum laude graduate of the University of North Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi Educational Honor Society, Secretary of the Order of the Omega Greek Honor Society and Scholarship Chair for Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.
The future groom is the grandson of Bessie Hightower and the late Hoyt Hightower, Bernice Davis and the late B.F. Davis, all of Hamilton.
A 2001 graduate of Hamilton High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from the University of North Alabama in 2005.
He was a member of Alpha Theta Chi honor society, the Leadership UNA program and recording secretary for Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He is employed with Progressive Insurance.

Mabrey, Eubanks to wed
Tim and Barbara Mabrey of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Melanie Elizabeth Mabrey of Hartselle to Benjamin Kristopher Eubanks, son of Brian and Sue Eubanks of Falkville.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Amanda Sandlin of Hartselle, the late Joe Sandlin, Rudy Mabrey of Columbia, Tenn. and the late Mary Mabrey.
A 2003 graduate of Hartselle High School, she is a 2007 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Athens State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi Elementary Education Honor Society. She is employed by Sylvan Learning Center in Decatur.
The future groom is the grandson of Mary Jo Pressley of Hartselle, Mary Sue Eubanks of Falkville and the late James Eubanks.
A 2004 graduate of Hartselle High School, he will graduate in 2008 from Athens State University with a bachelor’s degree in human resources management. He is a member of Delta Mu Delta Business Honor Society and the Society for Human Resources Management. He is employed by Just Rite Machine.
The wedding is planned for June 2 at 4 p.m. at Fairview Church of God in Falkville.
