Men charged with drug offenses

Two men are charged in drug-related offenses after a search of a Decatur home last week.
James Thomas Compton, 31, of 7th Street SE in Decatur, is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana in the first degree and possession of drug paraphernalia.
John Claude Beasley, 30, of 148 Roberts Road in Danville was charged with loitering in a drug house. Compton’s bond was set at $2,000. Beasley’s bond was set at $500.
The arrests followed a May 15 search by the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit and Anti-Crime Unit at 7th Street SE. Agents found marijuana, prescription pills and drug sale paraphernalia at the home.
