Spaulding (Sam) Boster

Funeral for Spaulding (Sam) Boster, 87, of Hartselle was Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with Dr. Jeff Redmond officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Boster died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at Decatur Health and Rehabilitation Center.. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and then as an Army civilian employee taught maintenance and operations of military electronics equipment. Later, he worked and retired as a missile equipment specialist at Redstone Arsenal. For a period following retirement, he operated an electronics business in Hartselle. He was a longtime active member of Hartselle First Baptist Church and a Gideon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Belle Boster, two sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Inez Boster of Hartselle; five daughters, Dorothy Knight and husband George of Smyrna, Tenn., Juanita Blair and husband Randy of Cullman, Karen Nichols of Sheffield, Shirley Hallman and husband Elvis of Hartselle and Terri Shelton and husband Ricky of Trinity; three sons, Donald Boster and wife Joanne of Huntsville, Charles Boster and wife Penny of Center, Tex. and Kenneth Boster and wife Mary of Hartselle; 13 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were deacons of Hartselle First Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Hartselle First Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideons International.
The family would like to express appreciation to the staff at Decatur Health and Rehab Center for their concern and caring attention to Mr. Boster and the family during his last days.’’
