Clayborn 'Slim' Waits

Funeral for Clayborn "Slim" Waits, 81, of Hartselle was Sunday, May 7, at 4 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, south of Danville, with the Rev. John McPeek officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.
Mr. Waits died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at his residence. He was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Lawrence County to Larry Albert Waits and Bertha Montgomery Waits. He was a retired farm worker and a member of Pattillo Street Church of God. He lived with Mrs. Odie Hunter and Mrs. Estelle Smith for 53 years. He is survived by two nephews, Johnny Waits and wife Anita of Chipley, Fla. and Jim Waits and wife Trudy of Nashville; and his caretaker, Estelle H. Smith of Hartselle.
Pallbearers were Bobby Robbins, Charles E. Smith, Ottis Dutton, Leonard Tucker, Bryan Smith and Ennis Waits.
