The sixth annual Hartselle Historical Society silent auction and dinner benefit is set for Saturday, April 22. All proceeds will benefit the continued restoration and preservation of the historic F.E. Burleson School and Hartselle Fine Arts Center.
The silent auction will begin at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and entertainment.
Ann Hill of Oden House Cottage will provide the dinner menu featuring herb roast beef, green bean almondine, creamy potato salad, garden salad, bread and assorted desserts.
College Street Players, directed by Ed Balch, will provide entertainment.
Tickets are $50 per person and are tax-deductible. For tickets or information, call 773-0478. Dress is coat and tie.
Contributions in excess of $220,000 have been used since 2001 to repair and replace the building’s roof, restore columns, and install heating and air-conditioning on the main floor of the Hartselle Fine Arts Center. Five-year goals include balcony and auditorium restoration, handicap accessible elevator installation, and development of fine arts programs at the historic site. The annual silent auction is one of the organization’s largest annual fundraisers.
This year’s silent auction includes a variety of unique and valuable items donated by local businesses. Items are still being accepted and added to the list. To donate, contact Donyale Wooten at 751-1813. At press time, the list of donated items was as follows:
