Devils drop nail-biter to Addison in Speake final

Undefeated Addison continued its unblemished 2005 season, but not before surviving a scare from the Blue Devils in the championship game of the Speake Christmas Tournament Dec. 28.
Thomas Holt scored 16 points to lead the Blue Devils and Cody Sewell and Heath Alford each added 10 points. Addison improved to 8-0 for the season while Falkville fell to 9-4.

Falkville's Alford made the winning basket with seven seconds left in overtime to give the Blue Devils the semifinal victory at the Speake Christmas Tournament Dec. 27.
Alford finished the game with 28 points and 11 rebounds while teammate Holt pitched in 15. Nathan Riggins added nine points and seven rebounds for the Blue Devils, who advanced to face Addison in the championship game.
Falkville boys 70

The Blue Devils were never really challenged in the first round of the Speake Christmas Tournament Dec. 26. Falkville led 30-21 at the half and outscored Parrish 27-6 in the third quarter to ice away the victory.
Alford scored 23 points and pulled down six rebounds to lead Falkville. Adam Dye scored 17 and Holt added 10.

The home team advanced to the finals of the Speake Christmas Tournament Dec. 27, defeating Falkville.
The Lady Bobcats' defense held Falkville's Emily Dabbs, who came into the game averaging close to 20 points a game, to just 11 points. Kylie Black scored 20 points to lead Speake.
