Garrison, Garrison exchange vows
Sharlene Gail Garrison and Steven Lester Garrison, both of Hartselle, were wed Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at Basham Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Elder and the Rev. Lynn Morgan officiating.
The bride is the daughter of the late Buddy and Gail Morgan. The groom is the son of Myrtle Garrison of Hartselle and the late Lester Garrison.
The church and altar were decorated with pink and white roses, white ribbons, pink wisteria and greenery.
The bride, given in marriage by the couple's son, Matthew Garrison, wore a white satin strapless gown by DaVinci featuring iridescent crystals and an embroidered design. Her veil of French tulle was edged in satin and held by an Australian crystal and pearl tiara. Her bouquet featured a cascade of pale pink roses, pink sweet peas and white muscari.
Kem Powers of Trinity was matron of honor. Sherry LeAnn Garrison of Hartselle, daughter of the couple, was maid of honor.
They wore pink satin, tea length dresses with an acetate overlay featuring an embroidered design. They carried bouquets of pink wisteria, lilies of the valley and ivy.
Baylee Dotson of Decatur was flower girl. Carter Dotson of Decatur was ring bearer.
Lanny Garrison of Athens and Steven Joshua Garrison of Hartselle, son of the couple, were best men.
Ushers were Steven Joshua Garrison and Matthew David Garrison of Hartselle, sons of the couple.
Music was provided by Michelle Cottingham of Hartselle and Reggie Priest of Decatur.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church.
The bride's table featured a three-tiered cake with pink and pale pink roses and sweet peas. The table was decorated with roses and greenery.
The groom's table featured a three-tiered chocolate cake garnished with grapes, strawberries and white doves.
LeAnn Garrison was wedding director.
Melinda Thomas, sister of the bride, Kem Powers, Chandra Dotson, Stacy Dimitro, Beth Hood and Heather Heflin assisted with the reception.
Stacy Dimitro of Decatur attended the bride's book.
The couple is living in Hartselle.
A rehearsal dinner was held Aug. 26 at Basham United Methodist Church hosted by LeAnn Garrison.
A bridal luncheon was held Aug. 20 at Ruby Tuesdays hosted by Sherry LeAnn Garrison, daughter of the couple.
Morrow, Nash to wed Oct. 8
Dwight and Mary Morrow of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Beth Alison Morrow, to Jonathan Edward Nash, son of Norman and Linda Nash of Lilburn, Ga.
The bride-elect is a 1994 graduate of Hartselle High School and a graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in interior design. She is employed with Diversified Cabinet Distributors as a kitchen and bath designer. She is a member of the Junior League of Atlanta and the National Kitchen &Bath Association.
She is the granddaughter of Gladys Morrow of Guin, the late John Morrow, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dayton Stockton of Moulton.
The groom-elect is a 1995 graduate of Berkmar High School and a graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He is employed with Metropolitan Land Development as a civil engineer. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Norris Nash and Mr. Lester Elrod, all of Lilburn, Ga., and the late Mrs. Lester Elrod.
The wedding will be held Oct. 8 at Old Edwards Plantation in Arnoldsville, Ga.
Cason, Holt to wed Sept. 18
Rick and Doris Cason of Cold Springs announce the engagement of their daughter, Michelle Lynn Cason, to Steven Michael Holt, son of Steven W. and Constance Holt of Falkville.
The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Cold Springs High School and a 2004 graduate of Wallace State College in Hanceville with an associate's degree in medical assistance. She is employed with Good Samaritan Clinic in Cullman.
She is the granddaughter of Marie Cason and Erma Wamsley, both of Hanceville, and the late Richard Wamsley Sr.
The groom-elect is a 2003 graduate of Falkville High School and is currently attending Calhoun Community College where he is studying aerospace engineering. He is currently serving as a specialist in the Alabama National Guard and is stationed on active duty in Missouri.
He is the grandson of Jimmy Little and Susie Clairday, both of Falkville, William and Jackie Bohannon of Decatur, and the late Sharon Little and Jimmy Holt.
The wedding will be held Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Falkville home of Jimmy Little. The couple will reside in Ft. Benning, Ga.
Robinson, Bennett to wed
Bobby and Glenda Robinson of Falkville announce the engagement of their daughter, Melinda Kay Robinson, to Chad Stephen Bennett, son of Steve and Mattie Bennett of Falkville.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Falkville High School. She is the granddaughter of William and Monzelle Robinson and TurreBell Fortner, all of Falkville, and the late James Fortner.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Falkville High School. He is employed with CSX Transportation. He is the grandson of the late ZW and Ruth Bennett and the late Lester and Lola Moon.
The wedding will be held Sept. 21.
Williams, Brown to wed Oct. 1
Richard Alan and Ellen Vice Williams of Cowarts announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Williams, to John Wesley Brown, son of Joseph Earl Brown of Headland and Glenda Faye Money of Blakely, Ga.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Richard and Erma Williams of Dothan and Cecil and Mary Vice of Hartselle.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Gladys Brown of Headland, Ruby Lee Houston of Columbia, the late John Winston Brown, and the late Walter J. Houston.
The wedding will be held Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church of Headland.
