Virginia 'Gin' Sharrott Segars

Funeral for Virginia "Gin" Sharrott Segars, 73, of Hartselle was Wednesday, May 11, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Segars officiating.
Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Segars died Sunday, May 8, 2005, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 15, 1931, in Morgan County to Norman Corbett Sharrott and Clara Lucille Sharrott. "Gin" loved her Big Band music. She loved to laugh, giggle, have a good time and reminisce with siblings. She was gifted in interior decorating. Gin was a giving and very honest person and loved family gatherings. She graduated in the "Class of 49ers" from Morgan County High School. She was a very strong believer in equal rights for all, especially the down-trodden. Her sister, Dorothy Vest Wright, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, Craig Segars and wife Donna of Hartselle; two brothers, Kenneth Sharrott Sr. and Frank Sharrott, both of Hartselle; four sisters, Ozell McAbee, Amanda Sandlin, Gail Puckett and Jan Griffin, all of Hartselle; two grandsons, Croft Segars and wife Christie Mac of Birmingham and Walter Segars and wife Amanda of Hartselle; and one great-granddaughter, Ila Segars of Birmingham.
Pallbearers were Croft Segars, Walter Segars, Kenny Sharrott Jr., Chris Sandlin, Ferrell Vest and Billy McAbee.
