Funeral for James Edward Butner, 70, of Hartselle was Friday, Dec. 24, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Barbee officiating.
Burial was in Cook Cemetery.
Mr. Butner died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at his residence. He was born Oct. 2, 1934, in Morgan County, to Johnny Butner and Dolly England Butner.
He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Butner.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Butner of Hartselle; a son, Eddie Butner of Sheffield, Ky.; three daughters, Sherry Butner, Dana Butner and Ashley Butner, all of Hartselle; a stepson, Joe Shull of Chicago, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Kathy Slaten and Cecella Shull; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Sam Halbrooks, Dewayne Jones, Brandon Jones, Roy Summerford, Danny Barnett and Brian Wallace.
