Hartselle, Huntsville battle ends in draw

The Hartselle Tigers and the Huntsville Panthers played for 48 minutes and neither team could gain the upper hand.
Hartselle trailed for more than half the game only to score late and force a seven-all tie in their 2004 spring scrimmage.
The visiting Panthers would break a scoreless tie with two-minutes and 33-seconds until halftime when junior receiver Careg Bonner caught a 20-yard pass from quarterback Bart Siniard in the left corner of the end zone for a touchdown.
Matt Ingeron added the extra point for a 7-0 Huntsville lead.
Huntsville appeared to be on their way to a shutout victory late into the final period of play.
Then, with 3:02 left, Tiger cornerback Tyler Young intercepted a Panther pass at his own 41-yard line and raced down the left sideline before being pushed out of bounds at the Huntsville 10.
Two plays later freshman Tony Weaver tossed a six-yard touchdown to freshman Dane Burgess in the back of the end zone. Ryan Canafax was successful on the point after for a tie at seven. Huntsville had 1:33 to work with but could not gain a first down as the two teams settled for a stalemate.
On defense several Tigers had fine games. Montrel Murphy and Wes Chenault recorded quarterback sacks.
Joe Walter Norris batted down two passes while Jeff Witt and Matt Zartuche had one each.
The punting duties were shared by Quinn Dunlap and Matt Stephenson, each punted three times.
