Hartselle accepts United Way challenge
Staff Reports, Hartselle Enquirer
With $140,000 to go before meeting its $1.7 million goal, the United Way of Morgan County has challenged Hartselle volunteers and residents to raise $30,000 to aid its yearly campaign.
If the countywide challenge is met, United Way agencies across Morgan County can continue to operate with the same financial support as last year. The campaign ends Jan. 30.
According to the United Way of Morgan County, the city of Hartselle benefits from the following associated agencies:
Each of these and other agencies either has staff members from Hartselle or provides services to the Hartselle community. The city's donation goal of $30,000 will continue to help promote health and wellness, increase self-sufficiency, strengthen families, and support youth agencies.
Hartselle Untied Way volunteers Bettye English, Gloria Robertson, Joan Grantland, Truman Bridges, J.P. Cain, Chuck Yates, Bobby Martin, and Jon Anderson are encouraging the city of Hartselle to meet the challenge.
Volunteers have sent contribution requests to Hartselle Chamber of Commerce members, placed donation canisters in area businesses, collected donations at the Morgan County Basketball Tournament, and asked area churches to take up special offerings.
Donations may also be mailed to United Way of Morgan County, P.O. Box 1058, Decatur, AL 35602. You may also leave your donation at the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce.
