Funeral for Frederick E. Phillips, Sr., 68, of Hartselle was Tuesday, November 5, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with the Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Phillips died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at his residence. A native of Miss., he was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle, the Hartselle Rotary Club and recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow. He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1957. He was a certified public accountant for 40 years and owner of Frederick Phillips Accounting. He was active in Babe Ruth Baseball and girls softball league for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Terry Crysel Phillips of Hartselle; three sons, Frederick E. Phillips Jr. of Jackson, Miss., and Franklin Robert Phillips and Forrest Todd Phillips, both of Hartselle; two daughters, Vicki Ann Hyde of Decatur and Erin Lea Phillips of Hartselle; one brother, Forrest Charles Phillips of Hattisburg, Miss.; one sister, Mary Francis Miller, of Picayune, Miss.; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Johnny Chandler, I.T. Johnson, Charles Sandlin, Robert Sittason, Jim Corum, Franklin Morris, Ken Wilson and Dwight Tankersley.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hartselle Building Fund or First United Methodist Church of Hartselle Building Fund or Hospice of the Valley.
