Ponytails fall in Championship game

After falling to Sand Mountain in the first game of the Alabama Dixie Youth Softball State Tournament, the Hartselle Ponytails could have caught an early bus home.
Instead, the Ponytails rallied, winning the next four before falling to Hueytown in the Championship Game, 7-1.
After the opening-day loss, the Ponytails beat Dothan 3-2, Enterprise 5-4, Central Baldwin 7-1 and Sand Mountain 7-3.
Kayla Orr, who allowed 10 runs on eight hits in 10 innings pitched, was named Co-MVP of the Tournament.

Championship Game
Hartselle held a 1-0 lead in the first inning on Kayla Orr's homer. Unfortunately for the Ponytails, the team would be shutout for the remainder of the contest.
Hueytown plated seven runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a stranglehold on the Ponytails.
Hartselle's Anna Hall and Audrey McClanahan both singled in the contest.
Orr suffered the loss in the contest, allowing seven runs on four hits. She struck out three.

Sand Mountain 3
Shauna Clemons had a single and a double, drove in two runs and scored twice to lead the Hartselle Ponytails to a 7-3 win.
Anna Hall earned the win, allowing two runs on two hits in two innings pitched.
Kayla Orr, Kristy Pevahouse, Michel Fields and Chandler Orr also nothced hits.

Central Baldwin 1
Four pitchers combined on a four hitter as the Hartselle Ponytails defeated Central Baldwin, 7-1.
Kayla Orr, who got the win, Michel Fields, Anna Hall and Courtney Shuemake shared time on the mound.
Audrey McClanahan and Orr, who stole five bases, each singled twice, with McClanahan scoring twice and Orr knocking in a run.
Kimmie Minor and Chandler Orr each had doubles.
