Lady Tigers have a perfect start to the 2024 season

The Hartselle Lady Tigers opened the Anna Hall era with a perfect weekend to start her first season leading the Hartselle softball program. They picked up wins over Hazel Green, Oak Mountain (twice), Enterprise and West Limestone in the championship game.

“I think it’s just a testament to the girls and how hard they have worked this off-season and pre-season,” Hall said.

Hartselle 13, West Limestone 3
Hartselle finished the Red & Blue Classic with a 13-3 win over West Limestone. Brit Godfrey led the Lady Tigers with two hits, including a home run and four RBI.

Bailey Lawrence earned the win after pitching two innings, allowing a run on two hits. Tiger Howell pitched 2.0 innings of relief, allowing two runs on five hits.

Kaelyn Jones had two doubles and two RBI, while Katie Gillott added three hits and an RBI. Katie Norgard and Morgan Osborn each had two hits and an RBI.

Hartselle 10, Oak Mountain 1
The Lady Tigers scored 10 runs over the final two innings to defeat Oak Mountain 10-1. This was Hartselle’s second win over the 7A Lady Eagles.

Brit Godfrey led the Lady Tigers with two home runs and four RBI. Jones had a double and three RBI, while Blayne Godfrey had two hits and an RBI. Gillott homered and had two RBI.

Blayne Godfrey earned the win after allowing one run on three hits over four innings and striking out six.

Hartselle 12, Enterprise 2
Hartselle started out Saturday with a 12-2 win over 7A Enterprise. The Lady Tigers scored nine runs in the first after sending 13 batters to the plate. Katie Norgard led the attack, going 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, and four RBI.

Jones had three hits, including a double, three runs scored, two stolen bases and two RBI, while Katie Gillott doubled and had an RBI.

Tiger Howell earned her first varsity win after pitching three innings. She allowed one run on four hits.

Hartselle 5, Oak Mountain 2
The Lady Tigers scored two in the bottom of the fourth to break a 2-2 tie on their way to a 5-2 over Oak Mountain. Gillott and Jones each hit a home run, while Norgard, Brit Godfrey and Morgan Osborn each had a hit and an RBI.

Blayne Godfrey earned the win after allowing two runs on six hits in five innings. She had five strikeouts.

Hartselle 5, Hazel Green 2
Hartselle picked up a 5-2 victory over fellow 6A powerhouse Hazel Green. The Lady Tigers were led by Norgard, who had a double and a triple, along with three RBI. Gillott and Chloe Gray each had an RBI.

Bailey Lawrence pitched four innings to pick up the win. She allowed two runs on six hits while striking out five.
