Shelton, Shannon to wed in July

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Shelton Jr. of Danville are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marrriage of their daughter, Christina Shelton, to Will Shannon, son of Dr. and Mrs. Wendell Shannon of Athens.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Baker of Danville and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Shelton Jr. and the late Mary Jo Shelton of Decatur.

A 2008 graduate of Hartselle High School, Shelton is attending the University of North Alabama, where she is majoring in elementary education. She is a member of Phi Mu Fraternity, a majorette and a member of Kappa Delta Phi Honor Society.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mts. William J. Long of Big Cove and the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel P. Shannon of Athens.

A 2007 graduate of Athens High School, Shannon attended the University of North Alabama, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and CIS. He was a member of the LaGrange Society, Accounting Scholars, Phi Kappa Phi and Kappa Phi Honor Society.

The wedding is set for July 7, 2012, at East Highland Baptist Church in Hartselle.
