Nelson, Melcher set wedding date

Phillip and Harriet Tipton of Fairfield, Ohio, and Mary Sharp of Somerville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lyn Melcher of Priceville, to Jonathan Andrew Nelson, son of Tim and Karen Nelson of Hartselle.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late William and Dora Rapier of Ohio and the late Helen Tipton and the late Sarah and Hicle Crow, all of Priceville.

She is a 1990 graduate of People’s Baptist Church Christian Academy in Corpus Christi, Texas, and is employed at Tucker’s Grocery & Pawn in Brooksville.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Robert and Louise Tucker of Hartselle and the late Coy and Nell Nelson.

He is a 2000 graduate of Hartselle High School and is employed at LG Electronics in Madison.

The wedding will take place Aug. 11, 2012, at Gurley’s Soggy Bottom Barn in Somerville.
