A year of progress in Hartselle

The last 365 days (actually 366 when you include the leap day) have been active in Hartselle and Morgan County.

We’ve seen a lot of building, albeit mostly in the government sector, with the new high school taking shape and the Hartselle Aquatic Center, replacing the old city pool. The Morgan County Economic Development Association has been working on the new Morgan Center Business Park, which should open this summer.

We’ve seen new businesses locate here, including a group of local investors who decided to reopen the Jeld-Wen facility. Sonoco Products has expanded its facility with new jobs in Hartselle.

That’s only a few of the signs of progress we’ve seen here in Hartselle and Morgan County. There are many others, too many to name in a limited amount of space. But progress is what we’ve experienced over the last year.

To help remind us of all the progress we’ve seen locally, the Hartselle Enquirer has published its annual Progress Edition today.

You will see sections of Education, Industry, Government and Religion. We hope that when you finish reading this edition you will see hope for the future in our community.

There’s a lot of exciting things happening here and its important that we are reminded of those good things. I’d like to thank everyone on our staff for making this a successful edition.

So I hope you enjoy it and let us know how we did.

Brent Maze is the managing editor of the Hartselle Enquirer.
