Funeral for Evelyn Freeman, 68, of Lacey’s Spring will be Sat., Jan. 7, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chad Chamberlain officiating.

Visitation will be Fri., Jan. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Hough Cemetery.

Mrs. Freeman died Wed., Jan. 4, 2012, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born May 28, 1943, in Lawrence County to Tennis Melson and Lola Irene Letson Kelley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Freeman; a son, Boris Shirley; and her parents.

She is survived by a son, Steven Shirley and wife Robyn of Breman; three daughters, Donna Tatum and husband Jimmy of Hartselle, Sherry Freeman and husband Eddie of Valhermoso Springs and Angela Shirley of Scottsboro; three stepsons, Raymond Freeman, Timmy Freeman and Anthony Freeman, all of Lacey’s Spring; a brother, Gilbert Melson of Union Grove; three sisters, Frances King of Courtland, Debra Martin of Decatur and Cecelia Clark of Grant; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.
